Revell Model Kits - Cars, Airplanes, Trucks

Since 1945, Revell has been the leader in plastic model kits. Revell designers are passionate about scale model authenticity and model building. Choose from Revell's huge selection of accurately detailed cars, trucks, ships, aircraft, spacecraft plus much more and say "I Made That!"

Revell Airbus A380-800

revell airbus a380The very first kit of the growing range of airliners from Airbus Industries, the A380-800, is now with us. This kit is big! The white plastic parts are contained within four large frames and all have very nice detailing. The undercarriage assemblies in particular are very well depicted. The largest parts, such as the wings and fuselage halves, have recessed lines that may at first seem slightly over scale but when painted it is not too obvious.

Some points that stand out and are worth mentioning are the beautiful curves of the aerofoil sections to all the flying surfaces, the flight deck that has just enough for this scale and the size of the fuselage.

Revell USS George Washington Submarine

revelluss george washingtonIt's not often that a plastic model makes the front page of the New York Times, but right there in the June 19, 1961, issue appeared a photo of Revell's USS George Washington nuclear-powered Polaris missile submarine.

It accompanied an ominous story that quoted Adm. Hyman Rickover, father of the nuclear submarine, saying that a hobby company's model had given away classified information to the Soviet Union. "If I were a Russian," declared Rickover, "I would be most grateful to the United States for it generosity in supplying such information for $2.98."

Revell Dodge Intrepid R/T

revell dodge intrepid r/tRevell-Monogram has done a great job in capturing the look of Bill Elliott's Dodge Intrepid R/T. The body shape appears to be a perfect match compared to the photo I have of the full-size cars.

The rear spoiler has the correct height and the notch for the inspection template, as do the roof rails.

Revell MiG-21 F-13 Fishbed C

There are plenty of MiG-21 kits out there, but a top-quality kit of the early "small cone" Fishbed has been needed for some time.

Revell Germany's new kit features finely recessed panel lines and loads of details in the wheel wells. The kit decal sheet offers two East German, one Soviet Air Force, and three Finnish Air Force markings.

Revell Hawker Hunter F.Mk.6

revell hawker hunter f mk 6
Revell Germany's new kit finally does 1/72 scale justice to designer Sidney Carom's sleek jet. The Hunter was used by dozens of RAF squadrons and saw service in many air forces around the world.

Molded in silver plastic, the kit has recessed panel lines, optional parts and decals, and best of all, the parts breakdown suggests future variants of the aircraft.

Revell Eurofighter Typhoon

The Eurofighter, now dubbed the Typhoon, is a joint venture of manufacturers from Great Britain, Germany, Italy, and Spain. It will gradually replace Jaguars, Tornados, and Phantoms in many European air forces.

Both single-seat, and twin-seat Typhoons are just arriving in squadron service.

Revell Westland Sea King HAS.6/AEW.2

revell westland sea king has-6 aew-2
Based on the Sikorsky S-61/SH-3, the license-built Westland Sea King is widely used by Great Britain and many other European and Middle Eastern nations in antisubmarine warfare, search and rescue, troop carrying, and airborne early warning roles.

Revell AT-6 Texan

revell at-6 texan
AT-6 kit was originally released in 1979. I've never had the opportunity to build one even though I've got three in my stack of unbuilt kits.

The recently reissued Texan is molded with raised panel lines and rivets. The detail is a Little overdone but workable.

Revell Bell AH-1G Cobra Helicopter

revell bell ah-1g cobra helicopterWhen Monogram's AH-1G was first released in the late 1960s, the Vietnam War was in full swing. The modeling industry wasn't what it is today, but this was a fairly decent kit, for its time.

Revell has re-released the AH-1G Cobra with a sprue of updated parts. It's molded in gray as opposed to the original olive drab.

Revell BV 222 Flying Boat

revell bv-222 flying boatPrior to World War ll, the flying boat was king of the airways, providing luxurious long-range accommodations. In the late 1930s, Germany's Lufthansa asked Blohm & Voss to design a large flying boat able to cross the North Atlantic.

The military applications of this aircraft were obvious, and soon the Bv 222 Wiking was developed. Only 13 Bv 222s were built, and most were destroyed during the war. However, two survived to be tested in England and the United States.

Revell New Mini Cooper

revell new mini cooperIn 1959 the British Motor Corporation introduced one of the most significant cars of the 20th Century - the Mini. It was the first mass-production car with the engine turned sideways ("transverse") to drive the front wheels.

Front-wheel drive now dominates the car industry.

By 2000 the 41-year-old Mini couldn't meet safety and pollution regulations, and a "New Mini" was required. By then, the "Mini" name was owned by BMW.

Revell ASK 21 Glider

revell ask 21 gliderAt first glance, releasing a 1/32 scale glider kit seems a bit off of the beaten path for Revell Germany, however the ASK-21 is an extremely popular training and sport sailplane and ha been in widespread service since 1979, the longest continuous production of a fiberglass training glider. Revell has provided nine options on the huge decal sheet, including Swiss, French, and German civilian options, as well as U.S. Air Force Academy, Belgian, and Royal Air Force military schemes.

Revell R3Y Tradewind

revell r3y tradewindThe R3Y was the "logistics transport" outgrowth of Convair's P5Y Navy patrol aircraft program, which suffered teething troubles from its outset. The biggest - and ultimately fatal - problems were the Allison T-40 turboprops.

Though the few R3Y-1 and -2 variants that were produced reached operational status with Navy squadron VR-2, the continuous engine problems prematurely grounded and scrapped the Tradewind fleet.

Revell McDonnell F-4B Phantom II

revell mcdonnell f-4b phantom ii
Between 1961 and 1966, 649 F-4B Phantoms were produced. The first production version of the Phantom was powered with J-79-GE-8 engines providing 10,900 pounds of thrust in military power and 17,000 pounds of thrust in afterburner.

The fighter was capable of carrying 16,000 pounds of ordnance on five hard points, fitted with six Sparrow missiles or four Sparrows and four Sidewinders.

Revell Heinkel He 162A-2 Salamander

revell heinkel he 162a 2 salamanderRevell Germany has added to the growing list of all-new 1/32 scale kits with one of World War II's most unusual fighters, Heinkel's jet-powered He 162 "Salamander."

The kit is cleanly molded in lightly soft white styrene. Some of the larger parts, like the fuselage halves and engine covers, had some ink marks that needed to be filled, but my kit was an early production sample, so these problems may have been ironed our.
